WOMEN IN NEED of CARE
We often say ‘aged’ because most of the women we care for are elderly, disabled, and living in leprosy colonies. At the Community Centre in Kothavalsa, we also support women who simply need care. Two of these women were living in a bus shelter near the road junction to our centre, and it took time to convince them that they would be safer and happier with us. We first encouraged them to join us for meals, and once they saw they had freedom—like asking for more salt—they chose to stay. We also care for HIV widows who have no one else; they have their own Aged Home and even a small Tea Room. We do not sponsor them individually, but if you would like to help, any amount between £5 and £30 per month, or even a one-off donation would help.
